afrikanholocaustToday the 23 August marks the International day of Remembrance of the African Holocaust!!. Deriving from the Swahili word “Maafa” (African Holocaust).
Remembering over 500 years of torture and suffering of people of African decent,through slavery, colonialism, imperialism, separation, apartheid, rape, racial whitening, genocide,invasions and its continued narrative and effect in contemporary society.
The African Holocaust is a global part of historical and current day responsibility which is often ignored, denied or trivialised. Let us recognise how its horrendous legacy has shaped our present day.
